Our Worker-Centred design process
Why Worker-Centred design?
Office fit-out companies, builders, contract furniture manufacturers and branding agencies so often include workplace ‘design’ in their services — so why pay for design?
Workplace design is more than squeezing every last square metre of efficiency into your desk layout, or simply picking out the right furniture. It’s more than one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter solutions, like the latest ‘future of work’ trends or click-friendly aesthetics.
Workplace design is about engaging workers. It’s about building effectiveness, trust and ultimately a space—and design process—that unlocks the power of your teams and reflects your values.
RESEARCH, FEEDBACK & ANALYSIS
It all begins with a detailed study of your current work patterns, using a combination of observation and targeted interviews in order to identify what makes the way you work unique.
This stage is about learning about your needs, how your team operates, and how your current work environment either helps or hinders this.
WORKER ENGAGEMENT &
Space planning
This stage is about listening to your stories. We work with you to identify and state the specific needs and performance requirements of your new space.
Building off of the analysis of your use of the space, workshops with your teams may be employed at this stage to deepen staff inclusion and participation, build consensus and identify larger goals for your new workplace.
At this stage we also begin to bring in relevant peer-reviewed research to support our planning and decision-making.
