LOS ANGELES, UNITED STATES
90,000 SF CO-WORKING OFFICE
COMPLETED Q3 2019
Initial Project Management ◦ Client Representative
Designed by Selgascano & commissioned by Second Home, this unique project envisions a landscape of sunken ‘pots’ set into dense, drought-sensitive foliage; an oasis in the middle of the city.
The entire complex includes an existing building with some historic value, which will be partially restored and partially amended for the required use. A second building on the site as well as a surface parking lot from the 90s will be demolished to make way for the lush outdoor campus of sunken private offices and sunken outdoor pathways, covered in a giant, freeform canopy—creating a multitude of shaded breezeways.
This office layout for this project is in a campus style, with each ‘pot’ envisioned as a private studio space for between approximately 4-20 members. The main historic building acts as a central hub for events, meetings, dining and all major building services. A branching design for the outdoor walkways allows flexibility in terms of accommodating larger teams in wings with multiple ‘pots’.
